FORM 077 · LOST INVENTORY
Lost & Found
Items lost to anomalous weather, recovered by the bureau and held in perpetuity. You may claim an item by filing a form. Claiming requires only a name and a reason, neither of which will be checked.
Left shoe from 1994
The left shoe was taken upward by the hail and never returned. The right shoe has been waiting ever since, and is very tired.
Unfinished thoughts
A collection of sentences that were filed away before they finished. Claimants report the thoughts resume where they left off.
One (1) sense of direction
Found wandering near the fog boundary. It points confidently in every direction at once, which is technically all of them.
An entire Tuesday
A full Tuesday, recovered from a past afternoon. It is intact but has the wrong weather for the date.
The middle of a sentence
The middle portion of a sentence that arrived before its beginning. The beginning is still in transit.
A small amount of doubt
Recovered from a meeting room floor. It has been dried and is now, ironically, certain of nothing.
Someone's patience
Found beneath a window during a delayed thunderclap. It is holding on, but barely.
A key that opens a door that isn't there
The key works, but only on doors that have not been built yet. Claimants are advised to wait.
A nap that was never taken
A perfectly good nap, never claimed. It is still warm and available.
The feeling of being watched by weather
Recovered from an observer. It reports that the weather is also watching you.
Claims Registry
No claims on file. An item remains lost only until someone claims it is found.
